Megazyme™ Lactose/Galactose Assay Kit

The Megazyme™ Lactose/Galactose Assay Kit (Rapid) is designed for the specific and rapid analysis of lactose and D-galactose in food, plant material, and biological samples. The method is based on the enzymatic hydrolysis of lactose followed by the quantification of galactose via an NAD⁺-dependent reaction, in which the formation of NADH is measured spectrophotometrically.

The kit is particularly suitable for analyzing products with low lactose content or lactose-free formulations, where high levels of monosaccharides might otherwise interfere with the analysis. The method is well-established and is used in internationally validated standards, including AOAC .06.
