Industrial Hygiene & internal monitoring

Hygiene inspections in operational environments and service

Rapid testing methods are used to verify hygiene in operational environments where visual inspections are insufficient. Using methods such as ATP, protein testing, and microbiological analysis, you can quickly detect deviations and ensure that procedures are working as intended.

Different methods serve different purposes. ATP an immediate indication of whether a surface has been cleaned sufficiently, while protein tests verify that organic residues have actually been removed. Microbiological methods, such as dipslides, provide a picture of the actual bacterial load and the presence of pathogens. The combination of rapid and microbiological methods provides a more complete picture of hygiene status.

Hygiene inspection in production

In the metal, paper, and packaging industries, continuous hygiene monitoring is essential. Shortcomings in cleaning and hygiene can lead to contamination, quality issues, and unplanned downtime, for example, related to biofilm, cooling systems, and process water.

ATP testing is used for rapid verification of cleaning directly on the production floor and to monitor hygiene status over time. Petrifilm™ and dipslides (contact plates) are used in conjunction with ATP testing for microbiological monitoring of surfaces, process environments, and water, particularly in systems where biofilm or microbial growth can affect operation, service life, and process efficiency.

Hygiene inspections in public spaces and services

For businesses and facilities with high foot traffic, such as public swimming pools, preschools, transportation, real estate, and cleaning services, effective cleaning is essential for reducing the spread of infection and maintaining high hygiene standards. Visual inspection is rarely sufficient—cleaning deficiencies are only detected when they are measured.

ATP testing is used for rapid, real-time cleaning checks of critical surfaces and contact points, as well as to monitor hygiene status over time. Petrifilm™ and dipslides (contact plates) are used for microbiological verification of cleaning and disinfection, for example, during follow-up, in the event of deviations, or when more in-depth testing is needed.

Treatment Hygiene

In tattoo parlors, skin care clinics, beauty salons, and similar settings, strict hygiene standards must be maintained at every step. Inadequate cleaning can pose a direct risk of spreading infection and affects both safety and trust.

ATP is used for quick checks of cleaning effectiveness, while protein tests and indicators are used to verify that organic residues have been removed from tools and equipment, particularly during manual cleaning steps.

Verification & Validation

Hygiene inspection for regulatory purposes

For inspection, follow-up, and internal monitoring supervision and auditing, such as environmental and health protection. Fast and reliable methods are essential for making decisions directly in the field and ensuring that requirements are met.

ATP testing is used to quickly identify cleaning deficiencies and provide immediate information to support decision-making during inspections. Microbiological methods such as dipslides (contact plates) and Petrifilm™ are used as complementary tools when verification, follow-up, or in-depth monitoring is needed.

Popular solutions for hygiene control

ATP adenosine triphosphate) is found in all living organisms and in organic residues. By measuring ATP a surface, it is possible to quickly determine whether cleaning has been sufficient. The method is used for rapid checks during operation and provides results within seconds.

ATP testing provides an immediate indication of whether a surface has been adequately cleaned and is used for daily monitoring and trend analysis. Microbiological tests, such as dipslides (contact plates) and Petrifilm™, are used to detect the presence of microorganisms and verify cleaning and disinfection. These methods complement each other and are often used together as part of a structured hygiene program.
