Parameter: Total bacterial count

Description

Dipslide is a non-selective microbiological test for screening total bacterial counts in food production, healthcare settings, and other hygiene-critical operations. The test is used to quickly assess hygiene status on surfaces, in liquids, and in production environments as part of internal monitoring routine surveillance.

The test is based on culturing on Nutrient Agar with a TTC indicator on both sides of the dip slide. After incubation, visible colony growth develops where bacteria are present, allowing for a semi-quantitative assessment of the contamination level by comparison with a reference chart.

This parameter corresponds to total viable count (TVC), which, according to food safety regulations, is used as an indicator of hygiene and process control rather than the specific presence of pathogens. The method primarily detects aerobic and facultative anaerobic bacteria that can grow under the specified culture conditions.

Features

  • Non-selective method for total bacterial count
  • Double agar plate for sampling and culture
  • Clear reading after incubation
  • Semi-quantitative assessment using reference charts
  • Suitable for surfaces, liquids, and environmental samples
  • Screening and verification of cleaning and disinfection
