Megazyme™ Sucrose/D-Glucose Assay Kit

The Megazyme™ Sucrose/D-Glucose Assay Kit is intended for the specific analysis of sucrose and D-glucose in food, beverages, and plant materials. The method is based on the enzymatic hydrolysis of sucrose using β-fructosidase (invertase), followed by the quantification of D-glucose via a glucose oxidase/peroxidase reaction (GOPOD), in which color formation is measured spectrophotometrically.

Sucrose content is determined by the difference between free D-glucose before and after enzymatic hydrolysis, providing a robust and well-established method for quantification in complex matrices.

This method is suitable for laboratories that require a reproducible and selective analysis of sugars in, for example, food, beverages, and raw materials.
