AlerTox® Sticks Fish

AlerTox Fish is an immunochromatographic rapid test for the detection of fish protein (tropomyosin) in food, rinse water, and surfaces. The test is used to verify allergen control and cleaning in food production.

The method is based on lateral flow technology and provides a qualitative result based on visual interpretation. The test has been validated for a wide range of bony fish species and is suitable for rapid screening without the need for laboratory equipment. Results are available in approximately 10 minutes, enabling quick decisions in production and quality assurance work.

Sensitivity depends on the matrix and processing. Heat treatment, high fat content, or industrial processing can reduce detection, which is a general limitation of this type of rapid immunological test.
