Neogen® Enrichment Pouch – Buffered Peptone Water Broth

Neogen® Enrichment Pouch – Buffered Peptone Water Broth is a ready-to-use, sterile enrichment pouch designed for microbiological sample preparation and pre-enrichment in food production, laboratories, and other hygiene-critical operations. The product contains 225 mL of ready-to-use Buffered Peptone Water (BPW) in a sturdy stand-up pouch that can be used directly without weighing, mixing, or autoclaving.

BPW is a non-selective pre-enrichment medium used to recover stressed or sublethally damaged microorganisms prior to further selective culture, particularly in the analysis of Salmonella other Enterobacteriaceae according to ISO workflows. The medium is buffered to maintain a stable pH during incubation and support the recovery of sensitive bacteria.

The pre-filled bag reduces the risk of contamination and saves time compared to traditional media preparation. The flat bottom ensures the bag remains stable during sample addition and homogenization, while the sturdy multilayer construction provides high puncture resistance when handling solid samples. The product is gamma-irradiated and comes ready to use.
