AlerTox® ELISA
Quantitative ELISA the determination of milk protein (β-lactoglobulin) in food, particularly suitable for non-heat-treated matrices.
Description
AlerTox ELISA is a quantitativeELISA for the specific determination of β-lactoglobulin in food and beverages. The method is based on antibody binding in a microtiter plate, where the signal is measured photometrically at 450 nm and is proportional to the concentration of the analyte.
The kit is optimized for matrices that have not been heated above approximately 60 °C, as β-lactoglobulin denatures at higher temperatures and can no longer be detected using antibody-based methods. The assay is used for cleaning verification, allergen control, and labeling.
The assay is specific for β-lactoglobulin and exhibits very low cross-reactivity with other milk proteins, such as casein.
