Bionova® MiniPro Auto-reader

The MiniPro Auto-reader is a compact instrument for the incubation and quantitative analysis of protein residues in hygiene control. The system is used in conjunction with Chemdye® PRO1 Protein Pen indicators and enables reproducible verification of cleaning processes in medical device and industrial environments.

The instrument operates at 60 °C and performs quantitative analysis within a defined measurement range of 1–50 µg of protein (BSA equivalent), with the highest accuracy within the 0–10 µg range. Results within this range are reproducible and comparable. At higher protein levels, the analysis transitions to visual assessment based on color intensity, yielding a semi-quantitative result. Up to three indicators can be incubated and analyzed in parallel.

The default limit value is 1 µg per swab sample. Limit values can also be defined per unit area (µg/cm²) via the instrument’s software. This requires that the result be normalized to the sampled area (cm²). According totheISO standard, the following applies to protein:

Alert level ≥ 3 µg/cm²
; Action level ≥ 6.4 µg/cm²

The recommended sampling area is 1–7 cm². The sampling area can be calculated usingthe manufacturer’sSurface Eye application.

The results can be printed via the built-in printer or transferred to a PC via USB for documentation. The combination of controlled incubation, instrumental reading, and digital traceability makes the system suitable for quantitative hygiene verification where reproducibility and documentation are required. Results can also be transferred to Terragene’sBionova Cloudservice for digital traceability, documentation, and centralized management of analysis data.
