Neogen® Molecular Detection Assay 2 – STEC Gene Screen (stx)

Neogen® Molecular Detection Assay 2 – STEC Gene Screen (stx) is a targeted LAMP for the rapid screening of Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (STEC). The assay detects stx1 and/or stx2 following enrichment and is used as an initial screening step in food safety testing.

The method is based on isothermal DNA amplification combined with bioluminescence, where the signal is automatically interpreted by the instrument’s software. Positive results are identified in real time and indicate the presence of STEC-associated toxin genes.

This assay is intended for screening purposes. Presumptive positive results must always be verified using a confirmatory method in accordance with the laboratory’s procedures.
