Dipslide – Total count (+ neutralization)

Dipslide is a culture-based test for total bacterial count used in food production, industry, healthcare settings, and other hygiene-critical operations. The test is specifically designed for sampling after cleaning and disinfection, where residual disinfectant may affect the results.

The dip slide is coated with Nutrient Agar containing a TTC indicator and neutralizing agents on both sides, allowing bacteria to recover and grow even in the presence of disinfectant residues. This reduces the risk of falsely low results and provides a more representative picture of microbial contamination.

After incubation, the bacteria appear as distinct red colonies, allowing for semi-quantitative assessment using a reference chart.

This method is used to verify cleaning and disinfection, particularly in environments where chemical disinfectants are used and where the accurate recovery of microorganisms is essential for a reliable hygiene assessment.
