Contam Swab Yeasts and Molds

After sampling, the swab is incubated in the integrated culture medium, where the growth of yeast and mold is indicated by a distinct color change. The method is qualitative and is used to verify cleaning and disinfection, as well as to identify contamination in environments where moisture and organic matter can promote the growth of yeast and mold.

This test is particularly useful for detecting airborne and surface-associated fungi in food production, healthcare settings, and other hygiene-critical environments. Results are available after approximately 18–24 hours of incubation at 37 °C.
