Contam Swab Contamination

Contam Swab Contamination is a culture-based swab test for general hygiene monitoring of surfaces and equipment. The test contains a culture medium based on Plate Count Agar (PCA), which enables the detection of aerobic bacteria after incubation.

After sampling, the swab is incubated directly in the integrated medium. Microorganisms growing in the sample cause a distinct color change, allowing for easy visual interpretation without the need for additional equipment.

This is a qualitative method used to verify cleaning and disinfection rather than for quantification. Results are obtained after approximately 18–24 hours of incubation at 37 °C.
