Description
The Megazyme™ Glycerol Assay Kit is an enzymatic method for the quantitative analysis of glycerol based on a coupled enzymatic reaction in which NADH is consumed. The decrease in absorbance at 340 nm is proportional to the glycerol concentration in the sample.
This method is specific to glycerol and is widely used in food, beverage, and bioprocess analysis, particularly in fermentation monitoring, where glycerol serves as a quality indicator.
The analysis is quick (about 5 minutes) and is suitable for both manual and microplate-based analysis in a laboratory setting.
