Chemdye® ChemSurf – UV-C Radiation Monitoring Test
Chemical indicator for verifying UV-C exposure on surfaces, based on a dose-dependent color change.
Description
Chemdye® ChemSurf is a chemical indicator developed to monitor disinfection processes using continuous UV-C radiation (254 nm). The indicator reacts to the accumulated radiation dose and produces a distinct color change, enabling a quick assessment of whether sufficient disinfection has been achieved.
The three-dimensional design (pyramid shape) makes it possible to assess UV-C exposure from multiple directions simultaneously. This is particularly relevant for room disinfection, where shadow zones and variations in dose are common.
The color change is calibrated against a reference level (≈200 mJ/cm²), making the indicator suitable for both routine checks and for the qualification and troubleshooting of UV-C systems.
The product is used in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and other hygiene-critical environments where UV-C is used for air and surface disinfection.
Features
- Verifies the accumulated UV-C dose via a color-changing indicator
- 3D design for controlling radiation in multiple directions
- Identifies shadow zones and uneven dose distribution
- Quick visual inspection without instruments
- Suitable for routine checks and validation
